Location: Liben zone : GuraDamole, Gorabaqaqsa

Afder Zone : Bare, Qooxle,Chareti, Hargele,West Imay, Elkari,Dolo bay and Raso

Duration of Assignment: 12 months (renewable based on performance and funding availability)

Reporting Line: Reports to the woreda EPI Project Officer/EPI Expert

Number of positions:38 (2 positions per woreda)

A. Purpose of the Role

The Community Mobilizer plays a critical role in promoting community engagement and demand-generation activities. The role focuses on building trust, raising awareness, and mobilizing communities to support immunization project activities.

B. Key Responsibilities and Duties

o Identify and engage local leaders, influencers, and community structures to support project goals.

o Facilitate community awareness sessions to promote health-seeking behaviors.

o Establish and strengthen community-based groups, such as women’s or caregiver support groups.

o Organize and execute campaigns to raise awareness on immunization programs.

o Advocate for equitable access to health services, focusing on vulnerable populations.

o Collect community feedback, needs, and challenges to inform program activities.

o Provide timely and accurate reports on community mobilization activities and progress.

o Conduct regular meetings with community volunteers and local leaders to enhance their capacity to support project activities.

o Empower communities to identify and address barriers to health service utilization.

o Coordinate with community health workers, local government, and other stakeholders to ensure effective community engagement.

o Support in identifying/tracking zero-dose and under-immunized children and mapping high-priority sites.



C. Deliverables and inputs

o Reports on demand generation and community engagement activities, including attendance, outcomes, and feedback.

o List of established and functional community-based groups and volunteers.

o Records of community feedback to inform program adaptation and improvement.

D. Required Qualifications and Skills

o Minimum of level I to level IV college completed in health and related field.

o At least 4 years of experience in community mobilization or similar roles, preferably in health or immunization

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

o Ability to engage and work with diverse communities.

o Proficiency in local languages and cultural understanding.

o Basic data collection and reporting skills.

o Willingness to travel frequently to the target kebeles within the project woreda.

o Strong commitment to community empowerment.

E. Work Conditions and Requirements

o Full-time position based in the woreda with frequent travel to community sites, kebeles, and sub- kebeles.

o Flexibility to work outside regular hours.

F. Cross-cutting

The community mobilizer must adhere to the organization’s policies, including the code of conduct, child protection policy, and health and safety regulations. Compliance with ethical standards is mandatory.
